Thomas
Cowlin was born in 1821 in St. Ives and lived his whole life there. He
was a sailor. Later in his life he lived with his son-in-law, John
Grenfell at 103 Street an Garrow. Thomas married Grace Trezise in March
of 1839. My Great-Grandmother, Catherine Lisley Cowling (she attached
the g back apparently) was born 10 years later in 1849. Her sister
Elizabeth was born in 1850 and Grace Wall Cowlin was born in 1860.
These gaps in the ages of these children may be explained by the fact
that Thomas was a sailor. My father listed a Thomas, who died in Italy,
Dick and Richard as being children of this family, though I have found
no trace of them anywhere. They may have died as infants. Catherine
lived to the ripe old age of 83.
