BIOGRAPHY:

Justine Marie Pigor was born on January 10, 1815. She married Jean Baptiste Petitjean in 1842 in France when she was 27 years old. They had eight children in 14 years, the first seven born in France.

The family immigrated to America, departing from Le Havre, France, on the Camillus, and arriving in New York, NY on 23 May 1854.

They first settled in Great Barrington Massachusetts where their eighth child, Julius, was born. They then moved to Connecticut before settling in Loramie Twp, Shelby County Ohio. They were living there at the time of the 1860 census.

Justine and Jean Baptiste remained in Shelby County for the remainder of their lives.

When Charles Francis Pettyjohn (Petitjean) was born on April 14, 1842, in Audincourt, Doubs, France, his father, Jean, was 41 and his mother, Justine, was 27.

In 1854, the family immigrated to America, departing from Le Havre, France, on the Camillus, and arriving in New York, NY on 23 May 1854.

They first first settled in Great Barrington Massachusetts where his brother, Julius, was born. They then moved to Connecticut before settling in Loramie Twp, Shelby County Ohio.  In the 1860 census, Charles was listed as Francis, a 16 year old farm laborer.

Charles married Julia Lucinda Roi (b. Abt 1848, Ohio; d. 1872, Cloud County, Kansas) in Shelby, Ohio, on October 26, 1865, when he was 23 years old. They had two children: Rosella Elizabeth (b. 15 Jul 1868, Cloud, Kansas; d. 12 May 1952, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma), and Josephine Laura (b. 30 Jan 1870, Cloud County, Kansas; d. 16 Feb 1921, Kansas) before they divorced.

Charles then married Sarah Ann Harp (b. 17 Oct 1854, Piqua, Miami, OH; d. 3 Apr 1936, Neodesha, Wilson County, Kansas) with whom he had 13 children: Oran Francis (b. 09 Ju 1875, Piqua, Miami, OH; d. 28 Nov 1952, Neodesha, Wilson, KS), Oscar (b. 05 Aug 1875, Newberry Township, Miami, Ohio; d. 30 Aug 1876, Miami County, Ohio)

Jean Claude Petitjean was born on September 7, 1845, in Audincourt, Doubs, France, to Justine Marie Pigor, age 30, and Jean Baptiste Petitjean, age 44.

In 1854, the family immigrated to America, departing from Le Havre, France, on the Camillus, and arriving in New York, NY on 23 May 1854. He was probably mistakenly listed as Johanna on the passenger list.

The family first first settled in Great Barrington Massachusetts where his brother, Julius, was born. They then moved to Connecticut before settling in Loramie Twp, Shelby County Ohio. Inthe 1860 census. Jean Claude was listed as John C., age 13.

Jean Claude married Rosalie Celine Debrosse (b. 13 Aug 1851, Russia, Shelby County, OH; d. 1 Oct 1920, Darke, OH) on February 11, 1873, in Shelby, Ohio. They had eight children in 13 years: John Henry (b. 15 Feb 1874, Greenville, Darke County, OH; d. 1 May 1952, Frenchtown, Darke County, OH); Louis Philip (b. 1 Dec 1875, Russia, Shelby, OH; d. 21 Apr 1956, Seattle, King, Washington); Peter Jule (b. 3 Apr 1877, Shelby County, OH; d. 2 Oct 1936, Osgood, Darke County, OH); Joseph (b. Feb 1879, Shelby County, OH; d. Nov 1880, Shelby County, OH); Albert Philip (b. 9 Feb 1881, Loramie, Shelby, OH; d. 9 Mar 1962, Troy, Miami, OH); Mary (b.
